My
name is Teresa Nieswaag, owner of Threads and Needles. In
this photo, I am with my husband, Jim, at one of the "Original
Sewing and Quilt Expo" booths we have been vendors at.

I fell
in love with sewing in junior high. Since studio art is my
first love, when I walked into a fabric store my mouth dropped open
when I considered all of the possiblities for the colorful bolts
of fabric! That happened when I was in junior high Home Economics--which
truly dates me! I have sewn everything from lingerie to upholstery
and anything in between.
Threads
and Needles officially became a business in 2001. I am available
to do custom sewing, embroidery and alterations. Also, I give
instructions for those wishing to learn any area of sewing, including
sewing machines and sergers.
In 1991
the quilting rebirth caught my attention. After struggling
with my first quilt, which had lots of triangles, I "found"
the Square in a Square ruler, created by Jodi Barrows. The
Square in a Square system of making trangles took away my struggles!
I believed in this technique so much, that I became a certified
instructor for Jodi Barrows in 2001. Since then, I have taught
this technique and sold the rulers and books at numerous trade shows,
quilt shops, guilds etc.
I am available
as an instructor, vendor, consultant etc. for the Square in a Square
system. Try the Square in a Square ruler for yourself .
I know you will love it!
